The short version

Sangati is provided by Atul Pandey. It does not require an account and never sends microphone audio, camera video, recordings, practice settings or practice activity off your device. Apple processes an optional purchase. RevenueCat receives an anonymous App User ID and purchase history to provide purchase functionality and purchase analytics. Sangati contains no advertising or tracking SDKs.

Microphone input

Sangati requests microphone access only after you deliberately start a feature that needs it.

• Tuner: After you tap Start Listening, sound is analysed on your device to estimate pitch. Tuner input is held only as a short-lived audio buffer and is discarded as it is processed.
• Practice recorder: Recording begins only after you start it. Audio mode saves a local M4A file. Video mode saves a local MOV file with the camera picture and the same aligned practice mix. The Free mix adds active tanpura. The Pro mix adds every active Sangati source, including tanpura, tabla, harmonium and metronome. An in-app recording indicator remains visible throughout each take.

Microphone audio is not uploaded to us or any third party. You can deny or revoke permission in iOS or iPadOS Settings and continue using features that do not need microphone input.

Camera input

Sangati requests camera access only after you select Video and deliberately open the camera preview or start a video take. Opening the preview does not save a recording.

The camera contributes the picture track only. Sangati creates the final video on your device by combining that picture with the same local practice audio mix used by the recorder. Camera frames, microphone audio and completed videos are not uploaded to us or any third party. Audio recording does not require camera access.

Recordings, presets and settings

Practice recordings, including M4A audio and MOV video files, presets, preferences and practice state are stored in Sangati's local app container. We cannot access them. You can preview, share or delete individual recordings in Sangati. Deleting the app removes its remaining local data from the device.

Apple may include local app data in an iCloud or computer backup, depending on your device and backup settings. Apple controls those backups. If you export a recording through Apple's share sheet, the destination you choose handles that file under its own terms and privacy policy.

Sangati adds permitted accompaniment directly from its live audio engine but never routes microphone input back to the speakers. Headphones help prevent speaker audio from being captured acoustically by the microphone.

Purchases

Apple processes App Store purchases under Apple's terms. Sangati uses RevenueCat to retrieve products, validate and restore the optional Lifetime Pro purchase, and maintain entitlement state.

RevenueCat receives a generated anonymous App User ID and purchase history for App Functionality and Analytics. Sangati has no account and does not link that identifier or purchase history to your identity. This information is not used for tracking.

No microphone audio, camera video, practice recording, preset or practice setting is sent to Apple or RevenueCat by Sangati.

Apple controls purchase records, while RevenueCat processes them as described here. Consult their privacy information for any applicable access or deletion choices.

What Sangati does not collect

• Microphone audio, camera video or practice recordings
• Names, email addresses or account profiles inside the app
• Precise or coarse location
• General app usage or advertising data
• Diagnostics or crash logs directly from the app

Apple may separately process downloads, backups and diagnostics you choose to share under Apple's own terms. RevenueCat handles the disclosed purchase information under its own privacy terms.

Tracking, advertising and third parties

Sangati does not track you across apps or websites, serve advertisements, sell personal information or share app data with data brokers. It does not include general product analytics, advertising, account, cloud storage or social media SDKs.

Support communications

If you email support, we receive what you choose to send, which may include your email address, device details, message and attachments. We use it only to respond, troubleshoot, protect the app or meet legal obligations. Please do not send a private recording unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.

Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably necessary, then deleted or anonymised. You can request deletion by emailing sangatiriyaz@gmail.com. A minimal record may be retained when required by law or necessary to prevent abuse.

Children's privacy

Sangati is a general-audience music practice tool. It does not ask users, including children, for a name, email address or account. Anonymous purchase-status processing may occur when the app checks available products or Lifetime Pro access, including before a purchase. A parent or guardian may ask us to delete support correspondence sent by a child.

Security and your choices

Keeping app data on your device limits exposure, but no device or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device with a passcode and take care when exporting recordings.

• Revoke microphone access in Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone, or Settings, Apps, Sangati.
• Revoke camera access in Settings, Privacy & Security, Camera, or Settings, Apps, Sangati.
• Delete individual practice recordings inside Sangati.
• Delete remaining Sangati data by deleting the app, subject to backups or exported copies.

We cannot view, export, correct or delete recordings and settings that remain solely on your device. Apple controls purchase records, with RevenueCat processing them as described above.

Changes and contact

If Sangati's data practices change, this policy and its Last updated date will be revised. Any notice or consent required by law will be provided before information is used in a materially different way.
